THE Area story
Sede Abu Al-Einein—meaning "the father of the eyes"—is a site named after a spiritual Palestinian man, as described by residents of the surrounding villages. As seen in the photograph, a small house stands beside one of Palestine's rarest and most renowned trees, the Al-Qayqab. The story dates back many years to a blind man who lived in Ein Arik. Known for his piety, he prayed daily on the roof of his house. One morning, while ascending to pray, he lost his footing and fell. In that moment, he called upon God for help. Upon regaining consciousness, he found that his sight had been restored. He returned to his village to share his story, but no one believed him. He then decided to relocate in Ein Qiniya, where he built a home and lived out the remainder of his days. During his lifetime, people came to visit him, and after his passing, the area came to be known as Abu Al-Einein—the father of the eyes.

THE Climbing story
In 2020, Palestinian climbers came across this first outdoor bouldering area near Ramallah, while searching of additional climbing opportunities and ways to spend more time in nature. The site features numerous boulders of medium height, offering routes across various difficulty levels—mostly easy to intermediate, with a few more challenging lines. While climbing, visitors can enjoy the tranquility of the natural surroundings, the presence of grazing sheep, and the soothing sound of water springs flowing into a small pool, where locals occasionally cool off during the summer months. Beyond climbing, the area lends itself to stretching exercises, music, camping, or simply picnicking—basking in the winter sun or seeking shade beneath the trees during the summer heat.
